Gibson / Les Paul Goldtop P90 / 1969 / Guitar

The next '69 'is knocking on our door. This vintage Gibson Les Paul has just arrived and we figuratively and literally struck gold! The Goldtop in this configuration is the first Les Paul to be reissued by Gibson. The '56 reissue is built nearly similar like its older brothers were built. In 1969, however, this model was significantly revised, just like its little brother: the Les Paul Custom. However, this Les Paul luckily hasn't fallen victim to those changes and still features a 1-piece mahogany body and 1-piece mahogany neck with a long tenon neck joint, making it sound like a '56. It features a wider headstock, that until then was just featured on the Les Paul Custom, and a Gibson logo without the dot on the I and with an open B and O. The P90 pickups are controlled by four original CTS pots that feature the original Sprague Black Beauty capacitors. The output of the original pickups is slightly higher than most '68 p90s, but is not exceptionally high. The result is a raw and punchy sound with a fantastic overdrive. Turning back the volume, results in sparkling cleans. This 1969 Les Paul Goldtop is in very good condition with some respectable traces of use, playwear in the form of small dents, scuffs, minimal wheaterchecking and an area of inevitable Les-Paul buckle rash. In terms of modifications and repairs, the following should be mentioned: this Les Paul has been rewired, the top and side show some drill holes of the replaced, not original, Bigsby. In addition, the back of the headstock has been refinished. The machine heads have been replaced by kluson-style tuners, the jack plate has been replaced by a gold anodized one and it has a new pickguard. The fretboard has been professionally re-fretted in the past. This vintage guitar comes in a new hardshell case, with TFOA passport. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
