Gibson / Les Paul Junior / 1955 / Sunburst / Guitar

We think you’d agree that this guitar is quite something and if you are looking for a classic single cut Junior that just sounds and plays great, look no further....

The colour of the sunburst is still vibrant. There is some wear to the finish as you’d expect. There is a piece of wood missing underneath the treble side of the bridge. This doesn’t affect playability. There seems to have been some minor repairs to both bushings to stop the bridge from leaning. There is no other sign of touch up or repair.

The neck has worn too but again there are no signs of breaks or repairs. The fretboard is in good shape and the new frets have plenty of life left in them. The nut has been replaced too. The tuners currently fitted are reproductions with the correct tuners in the case.

The plastics, as you’d imagine, are in good shape. The knobs are later examples. The bridge is the correct 'thin ear' example. These often end up broken due to the lack of mass.

Electrically everything is correct though there seems to have been some repairs to the solder near the pickup. The pickup itself looms untouched.

There is a certain gravitas to the tone of this instrument when comparing it to other juniors of similar vintage. Its a nice weight and the position of the pickup in relation to the bridge also helps. The controls are very responsive offering a wide palette of sonic options. Simply put, this is a great sounding junior.

Everyone should try a Junior and this one should not be passed over. Looks and tone is always a winning combination at ATB Guitars, so grab this one whilst you can.
