Gibson / Les Paul Junior / 1957 / Sunburst / Guitar
Beautiful condition, Gibson single cut Les Paul Junior with a nice big neck from one of the classic years for these guitars and no bridge post issues.
This is all original apart from 2 x replaced fingerboard dots at the 15th and 9th position (nicely symmetrical). Not sure why but fingerboard dots commonly fall out of Junior necks yet they do not seem to so much on the ES series...
The only other thing is for some reason the serial number has been removed. This was done so long ago that the small patch where the serial number would have been is glowing under black light almost like an original finish.
All original paint, hardware and electrics with undisturbed solder joints. Pots are dated 134 71? which indicates the guitar to be an earlyish '57.
By 1957 they had well and truly sorted out the bridge posts on these Juniors so there is no leaning, cracking, chipping of the finish or any intonation problems.
Weight is 3.7 Kg. Neck is nice and big and straight, original frets play every well indeed and that P-90 is blazingly hot being blisteringly close to the strings. Basically... it Rocks.
It is also in extremely nice shape for a 50's Junior and is one is one of the better ones I have seen recently. As you can see from the photos there are just a few small dings here and there but no big wear patches anywhere and no repairs or touch ups.
These have been popular as of late and I do not expect his one will hang around for long in this fine condition...
