Gibson / Les Paul Junior / 1957 / Sunburst / Guitar
We sell so many of these at ATB Guitars and for very good reason too… And at just 3.1Kg this is one of the lightest we have ever had here!
A defining voice in Rock n Roll history, these classic single cut Les Paul Juniors are always popular with our customers and this nicely priced, decent weight example is unlikely to stick around long… This one especially as it is a super lightweight one (3.1Kg) which is rare.
I think you’d agree that this guitar has the look. The colour of sunburst is vibrant, still retaining that both layers, that wonderfully contrast the natural finish on the back. There are a few scratches to the finish on the front and back though finish still has a wonderfully sheen. The neck has a few minor knocks but again still retains that glossy finish, the mahogany grain showcased beautifully here.
The good news is this is a ‘57 so unlike earlier incarnations you have no neck angle issues and no leaning bridge pins with unsightly repairs. The fretboard is in good shape and the original frets do actually have some decent life in them.
The plastics have some scratches and the electronics are untouched. In addition, there is no sign that any work has been carried out on the bridge area or the neck which can sometimes be the case with these.
As those of you who have played these guitars will testify, there is a certain gravitas to the tone of these instruments. Paired with the right amp, it will make you question why you need any other guitar. The controls are very responsive offering a wide palette of sonic options. This is a great sounding junior.
Everyone should try a Junior and this one should not be passed over. Looks and tone is always a winning combination at ATB Guitars and super lightweight ones are hard to come by, especially with original case so grab this one whilst you can.
