Gibson / Les Paul R7 Goldtop ** ON HOLD ** / 1999 / Gold / Guitar

You know, I was sitting on the couch on a typical Monday evening when all of a sudden, "The Bachelor" came on television. You know that show, right? That's the show where your wife excuses herself at 8:00 and quietly goes upstairs because she doesn't even want to see the "talent" that will be displayed. Well on this particular night, I was looking for the remote and you already know that guys are straight lazy. I couldn't find it, so much to my surprise, I found myself continuing to watch this thing. We all know the premise: Scantly clad women being flown to exotic locales to spend "quality time" (Yep, I said it. That's a word women use) with a bachelor in hopes of luring the man away from the other kittens, if you will. So, on this particular night, it was the grand finale of the season. The Superbowl of bachelorism, if you will. Maybe it was even Ali vs Frazier for the Heavyweight Championship of the World. Friends, how do 26 fine as hell women stake their claims on a particular man? Well, I know what you may be thinking but wait, they all have the same equipment. Onward... As I watched the human condition unfold before my eyes, the two finalists appeared to face each other in the final showdown. Lindsey was the small- town girl with a two- star General for a dad and the dark horse, Catherine was a beautiful Polynesian girl with serious assets of her own. As the girls agonized and toiled in doubt, I was riveted to the screen. Now cut to the final moments and we arrive at the point where the Bachelor had to send one girl home. The scene was set somewhere in India, on a gazebo overlooking a tranquil lake. Real life drama, no doubt. Lindsey showed up dressed in silver and heels ready for victory. Shaun, the Bachelor dude spoke to this woman in a way that led me to believe she was the victor, but not so fast my friends. The word "BUT" came into play. Lindsey was summarily dismissed and sent to take dreaded walk of shame. Her adversary, Catherine showed up next. She was dressed in gold and looking confident as well she should have been. As those sacred words of love and acceptance were spoken to her by Shaun, I had a thought. Both women were equal, yet there could only be one left to receive her crown. My point here is, the difference between winning and losing was purely psychological. One lady dressed in silver and the other came in gold, as if she knew she'd win. In Catherine's mind, she was the winner and I think Shaun realized that subconsciously. That, my friends is why in the Olympics, they give gold medals to the winner and everyone else is the first to lose. It all starts with the mind. I am confident when I say your mental outlook effects the psyche and the psyche effects your playing. Don't believe me? Ask Lindsey- maybe if she should had projected supreme confidence, she wouldn't had received the silver medal in the "kitty games". Just saying...
