Gibson / Les Paul R9 / 1999 / Bourbonburst / Guitar
I suppose if I were in the market for a Les Paul, I would want a guitar that felt like a real 50's 'Burst. I'm not talking about buying a velvet Elvis(you know, one that looks like the King and even uh-huhs like the King), but one that really isn't truly the jumpsuit you're looking for. Now I love me some Tom Murphy and over the years, he and I have had many conversations over a few beers and a baseball game (he loves the Cardinals, you know). The look he creates is spectacular, but with that being said, he doesn't go and pick the guitar out for weight, neck profile, playability and vibe. He just gets a guitar put on his bench and off he goes. Now back to this guitar. It does have all of the intangibles you are looking for: the soul of Mother Teresa and the body of Stacey Keibler. Just look at that stunning Eastern maple top, not to mention the exceptionally rich Madagascar rosewood fretboard. Actually, the neck is the real story. It's not some CNC production line Frankenstein. No sir, this neck feels authentic and we think once you've played this piece, you'll agree. Friends, Ray and I have been doing this for awhile, believe you me. We wouldn't still be doing this if we were selling Yugos and calling them Ferraris so hey, you know what to do. Call us, and watch us go to work..
