The 1959 Gibson Les Paul Std. is the most iconic guitar ever produced to most guitar players worldwide & Gibson has been making many different variations since 1980 w/their Heritage Series. Its all about the figure in the maple tops & what color really turns you on. This wonderful example is from 2016 when Gibson experimented in some very unusual colors like never before on their classic ’59. Check out this incredible R9 special ordered in a magnificent Ocean Blue over 1 of the best tops we have ever seen. Its got multiple colors going on & is simply stunning. Its got a contrasting Cobalt Candy Blue see-thru finish on its back, sides & neck letting off a green hue. Its loaded w/a pair of Custom Bucker Alnico III pickups that capture the true ’59 tone from Jimmy Page, Duane Allman & Joe B. you’d like. Its inked on white serial # is 1 of only 50 made w/this “R9” designation in all their wild colors. Its got all the std. items such as Kluson Tuners, an ABR-1 bridge & gold Top Hat knobs, yet no pickgard to show off its Flame ! This is certainly 1 of the craziest Flame Tops ever made as you can see. It’s truly near mint in all respects & comers w/lots of case candy (only missing its COA) in its original Brown Tolex hard case.
