Gibson / Les Paul SG Junior / 1961 / Cherry / Guitar
This guitar certainly looks the part. We haven’t seen one in this condition for a while. The colour has survived albeit faded, however the fade only really evident when compared to the colour under the pickguard. There are bumps and knocks as oud expect but nothing too substantial.
The neck, as with the body, is in great condition. There is a headstock crack that's been so well repaired and refinished that it is barely visible, even under UV light. The fretboard shows no signs of wear and refret and a new nut really helps playability. The correct Kluson tuners are still present.
The plastics are in great shape too showing only minor signs of use
The bridge is a replacement and electrically there have been some changes. Pots are later examples, it has been rewired and the original pickup and pickup cover have had aluminium foil shielding wrapped around it in an attempt to cut down on noise.
The guitar comes with a hardcase.
Sonically this guitar is so much more than a 'student' guitar.. A great rock n roll machine, this guitar just screams. The neck is so comfortable being a classic, favored 1964 profile and reassuringly full, just inviting you to play anywhere.
We love SGs here at ATB Guitars and to have a Junior is always a treat. If your thing is there's horned beasts then you need this one in your collection.
