1960 Gibson Les Paul Standard - Sunburst
Well known 1960 Burst, in Germany since 1979 and one of the best-sounding Les Paul Standards we had so far. We allready sold that Burst once, the previous owner traded it in for other guitars. Super clean early 1960 Gibson "Burst" with all 1959 apointments such as the 59-neck-profile, hat-knobs, single-line Klusons and faded finish. This guitar is in excellent condition for its age and has no weatherchecking only minor playwear and some beltbuckle-rush on the backside of the body. The Guitar had an Epiphone Tremtone vibrato-tailpiece at one time, the remaining screwholes have been closed with MOP-inlays, this has been done allready in the late 60s/early 70s. The centerseem maple-top has a strong and equal flame, the sunburst finish has now faded into a nice lemon-drop.
The two strong "double-white" PAF humbucking pickups with readings of 8,23 K-Ohm for the neck- and 8,67 K-Ohm for the bridge pickup. All 4 pot-dates are matching and dated 137.9.36. Great opportunity to get a nice, clean and great sounding burst with an outstanding flametop and great history, well documented way back to 1979, when it was bought from Norms Rare Guitars. The guitar has appeared in Vic DaPras Books Bursbelievers I (pg. 64), Burstbelievers - "The Out Takes" (pg.13), Sunburst Alley (pg.65) and the german Guitar&Bass "Gibson Special Edition" from 2002 (pg. 36/37)
Comes incl. original brown case with pink lining.
