Gibson / Les Paul Standard / 1982 / Red / Guitar
This is a Near MINT and 100% original - 1982 Gibson Les Paul Standard Limited Edition Candy Apple Red with Gold hardware and ebony board with it's superb, original hard shell case that even that is near MINT!. You do not come across these as clean as this every day and I would not be surprised if it was one of the finest examples around…
It is in near MINT condition and the only real marks are a few minor dings here and there plus some fine checking in places on the back which is not too serious. Pickups are Tim Shaw original PAF’s with zebra bobbins so if you decided to take the gold covers off it would look pretty damm cool...
100% original in every way, including frets, hardware, finish and case. It plays really well too with no wear at all on the lovely, original wide frets and no wear at all on the fingerboard. All solder joints are totally undisturbed.
All pots date to 1982 and serial number is 82562505 with ‘Made in USA’ and no volute etc. All correct for the time. It also has an additional batch number of 0226.
Guitar plays and sounds really nice, it is well set up and I do not think the new owner will be disappointed. Weight is 4.2Kg which is pretty good for these guitars.
I do not think you will find a better one out there and if you are looking for an investment limited edition Les Paul from the Shaw 80’s period, this should be up there with the best of them as it is a guitar with a strong cult following and this must be one of the best around.
