2003 Gibson Les Paul standard '59 Reissue, Murphy Aged with a stunning "killer" top in near mint condition. This is Likely one of the rarest of All Gibson Reissues and certainly one of the best investment next to a Genuine '59. This one is the lightest we ever had, and weighs in at 3.7kg (8.15LBS) only. These guitars are all solid wood, and not chambered! really a guitar with amazing feel and tone. Only a handful of these stunning '59 flame top Murphy aged back were made in 2003 and every single detail of this guitar is aged to perfection but with respect for the finish. The previous owner switched for very rare H450 and H455 Tom Holmes pickups, the early ones that are very much sought after. The original pickups are with the guitar. The flame burst top is really a stunning one, and i would say, the pictures don't do justice to it. If you turn it in daylight in your hands, it shows a depth that is incredible, in my opinion it's one of the best tops we ever had in our shop showing the much sought after 'falling flame', meaning the flame is pointing downwards from the centre. A guitar of this quality is no longer made by the custom shop. Finding a guitar like this is considered a rare chance. The case and COA are included, the Certificate is signed by Tom Murphy and the Gibson Custom shop. Serial number #: 9 3853 Year: 2003. A Excellent Collector and a must have for serious Les Paul collectors. Now a last point of discussion: I don't want to start over the discussion about brazilian fingerboards on 2003 LP's but you must take a close look at this chocolate colour fingerboard and judge for yourself.
