Gibson / Les Paul Std. Heritage "Award" Model / 1981 / Cherry Sunburst Finish / Guitar

This is a fabulous example of 1 of Gibson’s earliest special limited run 1959 Les Paul Std. Reissues right when their Std. 80 Heritage models were being released. Its Cherry’burst finish is quite lovely over a beautifully figured & flamey maple top. This is from a Limited Run of a supposed 50 units sporting both Gold Hardware & a special white oval Pearl plaque on the back of its headstock instead of the normal stamped serial #’s we come to know. This is # 008 of approximately 50 units produced. She’s sporting 2 pat.# stamped pickups, pots dated to 1981 w/a nice pickgard, Nashville bridge & Stop Tailpiece. Its Grover Tuners hold tune well. At this time Gibson was bitched at thru the 70’s for using 2 piece sandwiched bodies w/3 piece maple necks but this series has a solid 1 piece mahogany body w/a great feeling 1 piece mahogany neck. She’s truly near mint & comes w/a nice (albeit a broken handle) original Brown hard case.
