Ok, folks, serious stuff here. This guitar is a consignment for one of the most demanding collectors I know. Back in 2009 he was seeking for a true monster top that would match well when placed next to his 90's killer R9... but couldn't find any. So he decided to place a custom order through an official Gibson Custom dealer.

The whole process was probably a nightmare for Gibson, because this very special client rejected the tops offered from Nashville various times, not considering them good enough for what he had in mind. After more than a year and a half waiting, he was finally offered a top he liked and gave it the ok... and what a top that was!! It is probably one of the most monstruous ones anyone's ever seen, no doubt about that! Check out the incredible thick figuring, the insane curl that seems always have something going on... incredibly interesting apart from jaw-dropping! The owner clearly knew what he wanted.

The guitar is a complete one-off custom order, not another one like it on the whole planet! Some might erroneously think this is a Les Paul Ultima (it is very similar, without the fancy binding). It does have the Tree of Life inlays on the fretboard, gold hardware, ebony fretboard, inlaid headstock, dynamic sound chambers (around 8 lbs flat!!)... Of course, the guys at Gibson didn't have the guts to drill a couple holes to install the pickguard, so it's included but was never installed!

Ok, now the price... you can all imagine that custom ordering a top like this not only takes time, but big bucks as well. See the original receipt in the last pictures... Yes, that is correct: 12,500€. Anyone else want to order a mega über monster top? The good news is that the guitar is priced to sell: 6.995€. It's almost a joke, but that's how the owner wants it for it to sell fast. 

The guitar is in near mint condition. Very little fret wear, maybe a couple of really small dings and a hairline scratch or two... really minor stuff. There is a darker mark near the back heel and near the lower strap button (right at the back edge), also very minor, but I just point it out for the sake of disclosing everything. The darker spot you guys see on the back of the neck is just darker wood grain. There is obviously plenty of gold gone from the pickups, bridge and stoptail, but overall hardware is in very decent condition. All original, no mods, no breaks, no repairs. 

This is a lifetime opportunity to get your hands on a unique guitar. For those of you top-chasers, I don't see how you'd let this one pass. When do you see tops like these? This is your chance before the owner thinks twice!
