Gibson / SG Custom / 1964 / White / Guitar
1964 SG Custom vintage guitar in white for sale. Serial 189378
This guitar is in good condition, with a rating of 6 out of 10. It features 3 original Patent Sticker humbuckers, although the middle one shows signs of a disturbed solder joint. It's possible that the pickup has been rewound, but we have left it as it is. The middle position produces a phase-inverted sound, indicating that the magnets may have reversed polarity. The guitar retains its original black M69 pickup surrounds.
There is a repair near the neck tenon that extends into the neck pickup cavity, but it is barely visible from the outside. There are some chips in the lacquer around the heel due to the repair. Additionally, there is some crazing in the finish around the headstock, but there are no breaks.
Most of the parts are original, except for one replaced pot (stamped 7246, brand uncertain). The remaining three Centralab pots are dated from the 48th week of 1961. The guitar features gold hardware, including a Gibson ABR-1 bridge with nylon saddles and Kluson Waffleback tuners. The correct plastic with roll marks is intact, although one of the D4 tuners is slightly bent.
The guitar has been re-fretted some years ago, but the frets are now heavily worn with deep divots. The original nut has been shimmed. It comes with the original black hard case with yellow lining, although the handle has come loose on one end.
