Gibson / SG Junior / 1969 / Cherry / Guitar For Sale
Nice, early 1969 SG Special with the slim taper, one piece neck and narrow nut. A nice player with a great sounding original P-90 but has a few issues, lets get these out of the way first...
It has had a neck repair at the heel. It does not look like a complete break but a crack, mainly on the bass side that has required some attention in the past however it is stable now.
Vibrola has been removed and lost and a later 3/3 wrap tail is now acting as a tailpipe and bridge which is probably a good thing. Original Kluson open back strip tuners have been removed and a set of repro single line tuners have been fitted and the originals retained in the case pocket. Knobs have lost their silver inserts.
The good - Original electrics, original finish, original frets in excellent condition and a really low action make this a very pleasurable guitar to play and crank up loud. It is also, at just 2.67Kg, an insanely light guitar to swing around! Not that we have tried with this one, of course...
These are really good value for money and at a smidge under £3k comes highly recommended as a way to beat the Chancellor's budget...
