Gibson / SG Special MINT / 1969 / Cherry / Guitar
Just like the '69 SG Standard we recently listed, this SG Special is spectacular. In fact if you can believe it. it is even more MINT than the SG Standard. It also has the original tags, strap and lead that came with it when it was purchased new in 1969. Phew...
I don't think this has seen much light of day, or play for that matter. It is a true under the bed find and I defy anyone to find a better example. There is no fade at all on the beautiful, bright cherry red and you can fully appreciate how beautiful these guitars were when they were new.
100% original in every way including those quirky tuners you only see in 1968/9. Zero fret wear and ZERO fingerboard wear. Both original P-90's sound superb, same pickups as a '68 Goldtop. Even the chrome plating looks like new with no wear or pitting anywhere.
These guitars are often loved for their classic Santana Woodstock tones and vibe, not to mention Tommy era The Who. I do think I can guarantee though, this SG Special has never been near Pete Townsend on stage...
This is a real total, time capsule piece and this is no exaggeration. If a better example exists, I challenge you to find it.
A once in a lifetime opportunity!
