Adirondack red spruce/rosewood. Extremely rare first SJ (twin)batch of very late 1942 with rosewood back and sides. Original condition except refret and new correct maple bridge plate (original one misplaced). Original bridge and original bridge saddle. Tuners once replaced but original Klusons remounted. Original but faded white stenciled logo, bound fingerboard, big 5-piece maple neck with no neck rod, perfectly straight. Hardly noticeable back crack with a small amount of lacquer added, top center seam separation and repair, all performed in our workshop. Dryness hairline surface crack at the heel side without any impact on structure. Excellent action and outstanding tremendous tone, huge and clear. It won’t come any better. Hc. On consignment.

Through building their own guitars in the style of traditional American steel string guitars and through specializing in the restoration and repair of American pre-war instruments, they realized how similar these guitars were to the traditional German guitars in construction and materials.
Their new Tuebingen workshop opened in 1996. As aficionados of old American guitars, they have been creating many replicas of these wonderful instruments, authentic not only in their looks, but also in design and construction.
In addition to that, Blazer & Henkes are also specialists for the creation of modern guitar design, delicate pearl inlays as well as for restoration and repair work of vintage guitars.
