I don't care how many bass players have played Thunderbirds over the years, for me there can be only one and that is Pete Way of UFO. I didn't even discover the band until I went to Germany for a 2 1/2 year Army stint and once I saw them live, I was done. Pete hung that T- Bird way down low and it was nothing short of incredible: Schenker on the left and Way on the right- it just doesn't get any better than that and hasn't to this day. I still listen to all of those classic UFO records and of course, they serve themselves well by always bringing back the very best of memories. As to this particular 'Bird, it's one of the rare, good ones. No headstock break and the neck is straight and fast. It's original, with no modifications and simply put, it sounds like a great, classic T- Bird. You almost get a certain rock snarl on your face when you strap it on and I promise you will not be able to play it at a low volume. The bass just begs to be cranked up and it's a perfect match for an old SVT rig. Nice bottom- end growl, a snorty midrange and a pissy attitude make it the classic it deserves to be. We think these basses can already be considered as blue- chip investment instruments, so please call or email with any questions.
