81' G&L F100 Serie II Cherry Amaranth 2 pickups, Made in California a Fullerton, all original in Hard Case Code VA179
Launched in 1980 designed by the old team of Leo and George the F100 instruments were the first G&L designs to be produced by the new company. This is an early all original G&L F100 from 1981. Two G&L humbuckers called Magnetic Field Design, with a very personal and aggressive sound. Let's say that they have a rather generous output level even if they are not necessarily metal-rated pickups: they simply give their sound to this set, just as the controls contribute in this aspect. In fact, in addition to the classic three-way selector for the pickups, we find a master volume and two passive tones (high and low) together with two switches, one for the counterphase between the two pickups and one for splitting the coils. Fingerboard radius of 12"ash body, one-piece maple neck (retains original finish), 22 frets, 1/5/8” nut width, 25.5” scale Saddle-Lock fixed bridge, vintage-style Schaller tuners, made in the USA, a great example of Leo Fender’s later period genius.
