Gretsch 6122 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman (1972) Ultra Cool Vintage rocker, Original case, EC
January 1972 Gretsch Chet Atkins Country Gentleman, introduced in 1957 as a single cut, turning in 1961 to a double cutaway version with padded back cover. The cover hides a panel which allows access to the inside electronics. This is an ultra-cool vintage guitar, in excellent condition, there is some wear but minimal, some flaking to the metal parts, the guitar shows the usual signs of time and playing skills but is overall excellent, it had a neck reset done the proper way, and shows proper ageing-mojo what makes it look so cool! The body binding is excellent and shows no shrinking, i think we can conclude this is an exceptionally nice example of this very interesting old Country Gentleman. All things work fine and it combines great vintage tone to outstanding cosmetics. once it had a volume/tone knob extra, otherwise original 43mm( 1 11/16") width at the nut, 628mm (24 3/4") scale length, 12" radius fingerboard, Bigsby tailpiece, bar bridge, bound headstock that also features badge, faded gold metal parts, very cool sound, with original hard-case, Ultra cool -still affordable- vintage guitar..
