Gretsch / 6125 Anniversary / 1962 / Two Tone Green / Guitar
“This popular new beauty is the ‘sports car’ of the Gretsch line. Snappy, trim modern lines… exclusive built-in playing features that help give you the sound of distinction. A real knock-out in two-tone Smoke Green.”
Introduced in 1958 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the company, the Anniversary and Double Anniversary models followed the same lines as the flagship 6120, omitting the more glamorous additions such as binding and a Bigsby and in the process becoming one of the longest serving models in the cannon.
This guitar is in great condition. Body, both front and back show very little signs of wear. There is a slight knock to the paint on the lower bout. The finish has faded a little but on a whole is still vibrant. There are no signs of shrinkage around the binding or any real signs of rot.
The neck doesn’t seem to have been reset and the original frets still have plenty of life left in them. The fretboard shows very little signs of use.
The hardware and plastics are in good condition, retaining the luster of a well cared for guitar.
Electrically everything looks correct and undisturbed.
The guitar comes with its correct hardshell case.
This is a great representation of the Gretsch sound of the early 60’s. The Hi/Lo tron pickup has a lovely smooth quality without becoming too wooly.
Great Gretsch tone with looks to match, two tone is definitely the way to go. Grab this before it gets away…
