This is one of the most beautiful & all original examples of an early Duo Jet we have ever had in our 28 years in biz, its original Black finished plastic “drum” laminated top is incredibly clean having just 1 small spot naturally worn thru, its Natural finished mahogany back & neck have only slight play wear still retaining most of its original finish, its 2 D’Armond pickups are super punchy & have that fantastic bright tone one can only hope for from these rare solid bodied Gretsches, its rare factory installed “Neo-Classic” inlaid “Thunb print” pearloid inlaid fingerboard is clean with its original frets have only slight wear (please see for comparison our 1959 6121 w/its ’56 cow & cactus fingerboard on it from the factory from new), so many 50’s Gretsches have early bodies w/later necks from bith such as this one, its Silver pickgard finishes her off perfectly, all chrome hardware, its open back tuners work quite well, its Melita Bridge holds a nice intonation & its “G” cutout tailpiece complete its look, its label inside is still very legible & its got untouched electronics, overall its exceptionally clean & one of the most original & best Jets on the market, she comes with her original polka dot gray hard case.
