Solid Spun Brass snares use a heavy, spun Brass shell, which is not casted, but spun into form using high centrifugal force. Shells are seamless and 3mm thick with a straight shell wall. Top and bottom edges are rounded except at the snare bed where it is flat. Shell interiors feature a natural finish, and are not polished.
The shell exterior is finished in clear lacquer and features the classic center Gretsch knurling pattern. Additional features include Lightning throw-off, top and bottom die-cast hoops, Snap-In key holder, classic Gretsch Drop-G octagon badge, Permatone coated top with underside dot/clear bottom heads and 42-Strand snare wire.
