Solid Spun Steel snares use a heavy, spun steel shell, which is not casted, but spun into form using high centrifugal force. Shells are seamless and 2mm thick with a straight shell wall. Top and bottom edges are rounded except at the snare bed where it is flat. Shell interiors feature a natural finish, and are not polished.
The shell exterior is finished in Black Chrome finish in clear lacquer and features the classic center Gretsch knurling pattern. Additional features include Lightning throw-off, top and bottom die-cast hoops, Snap-In key holder, classic Gretsch Drop-G octagon badge, Permatone coated top with underside dot/clear bottom heads and 42-Strand snare wire.
