Gretsch / Stephen Stern Masterbuilt G6118 TCST / 2007 / Two Tone Smoke Green / Guitar
Stephen Stern is the BEST, well that’s what one forum post claims at least. Spearheading the custom shop at Gretsch for many years now, he is highly regarded amongst the guitar building community and players alike for his craftsmanship and attention to detail. Though this guitar may not be one of his stunning, one-off NAMM creations, it certainly bears all the hallmarks worthy of the signtaure on the back of the headstock. Decked out in sultry, vintage-correct two-tone Smoke Green lacquer finish, ligthly aged for that under the bed look, this G6118 certainly looks the part. Featuring a pair of TV Jones TV Classic pickups for that oh so classic Filter’Tron sound, married to the almost essential Bisgby B6C, this beast surely delivers on tone, providing the substance to match the style. Trestle braced maple laminate body, ebony fretboard and pearl thumbnail inlays, what more do yo want from your Gretsch. One of only a handful imported into the UK, this is your chance to grab a truly fantastic guitar.
