1959 GUILD A-500/J.S.Award Special Order.!
This is one of the wildest things to come out of the Guild Factory from the late 50's, this cool archtop was made by it's factory master luthiers for a Mr.Gino Tomaso, whom worked for Guild during this period from 1957 thru 1962, he was hired to clean the factory but loved guitar, with the help of many friends, they made this 1-off top line
Archtop for Mr.Tomaso, it's Chocolate Brown Sunburst finish is wonderful, it's solid carved Spruce top has perfect grain along w/a floating D'Armond pickup, it's gold tuners have the diamond shaped pearl buttons on an engraved base plate, the back, sides & neck are made fom gorgeous flamey maple, it's ebony fingerboard has the top line triangle inside a square of pearl, the grooviest thing about this is since Guild never let an employee copy their guitars exactly, this A-500 has the quiriest "Gumby" headstock design w/Mr.Tomaso's initials in pearloid along w/ an interesting ornate inlay (notice the matching shaped truss rod cover), equipped w/an unengraved harp tailpiece & base model lucite'gard also having his "GT" initials in. It is near mint & a 1 of a kind for the eclectic collector. Comes with it's original Brown hard Guild Case.
