For those not aware of this amazing guitar, this is the hand made, Guild crème de la crème. This is Guild's answer to the Gibson L-5 and is hand built to the most amazing, exacting and impeccable standards.
It is of the highest quality both in materials and craftsmanship with a carved top and back in flame maple. When Guild made these guitars they were serious and these have become something of a cult classic amongst players within the Jazz fraternity...
This shining example dates to circa 1990, some of the serial number digits are a little hard to read but I believe it to be 1989 or 1990. It is finished in the relatively rare and optional extra, sunburst and looks stunning. It is all original and included is the original hard shell case.
It has been used, but not abused, there are a few marks here and there but nothing too serious at all, just have a look at the photos and you will see what I mean. Finish is bright, vibrant, un-faded and all original with no touch ups anywhere. Even the back of the neck, which is usually the first place to wear is pretty much wear free.
Playing wise, it is second to none with a nice fast action that allows your fingers to smoothly glide over the slick ebony fingerboard. It has had a lifetime of Jazz flat wounds on so fret wear is minimal. It has the original frets and is no way in need of a fret job.
Sound wise, this is one of those guitars that sounds as good acoustically as it does plugged in. It is a very good guitar for recording acoustically and when plugged it is warm, mellow with a nice bite if you need it. Very similar to an L-5 Wes Montgomery.
If you are looking for this type of guitar then this will surely impress. Come and try it and you will see exactly what I am talking about...
