Guild / D-55, Rosewood - Spruce / 1972 / Guitar
Finding an old Guild upperclass series is rare these days, since they were always very scarce to find. Guild never made the big numbers Martin and Gibson made. Finding a 1972 example of Guild 6 string flagship D-55 model, is even rarer than finding a 12 string Guild. Let me first tell you, there is something special to this guitar, and that is the sound, it really gets to you if you like me, have a thing going on for vintage guitars. Also like many early 70s Guild the features are a bit of an open book when it comes to back and sides, i'd say it's Indian rosewood, but the sides are beautifully grained, other feautures include a spruce top, 3-piece mahogany neck with hardwood possibly Paduk centre piece, bound ebony fingerboard with abalone triangle in pearl block inlays, 43.2mm nut width, 650mm scale, ebony bridge, original black plastic pickguard, multiple rosette, bound body and headstock, pearl G-shield and logo headstock inlays, original Gold Grover tuners, made in Westerly, Rhode Island, USA. Guild guitars of this era have this era are highly appreciated for their great tone and just the right-not over the top- but a tadd luxurious looks. This guitar is in excellent condition, a few dings on the lower neck were filled, and a few mostly surface cracks are repaired next to centre piece, pickguard, fingerboard and soundhole. The guitar is equipped with a new bone nut, and a strap button hole is filled, the set-up is low and might be considered to low for hefty pickers, but strummers and fingerstyle players will love the set-up. The guitar comes with its original Guild case.

The Fellowship Of Acoustics, Netherlands
ABOUT US
I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
