Guild / Starfire II / 1974 / Natural / Guitar
Probably the finest example available anywhere…!
The Guild Starfire emerged onto the scene in 1960. Having found success in the folk market with their acoustic guitars, they decided to properly focus on the electric market releasing soldi as well as hollowbody thinline guitars. Conceived as an alternative to Gibson’s thinline ES guitars, the Starfire I, II and III and later the IV, V and VI with their centre block construction, set the standard for Guild’s output throughout the following decades, assuring their position with excellent build quality.
This example is totally stunning all original in the best colour you can get for these with original frets, hardware, and finish. Condition is fantastic, with no breaks or cracks and just a few scratches and dings as you’d expect. The lacquer still retains its wonderful gloss, showcasing the grain of the maple wonderfully.
The mahogany neck is in great shape too with no signs of wear to the fretboard.
The Guild HB-1 has quite a reputation amongst the guitar playing community as an articulate, chimney pickup, preferred by many to some of Gibson’s output over the years. The pair found in this guitar certainly live up to that reputation with plenty of scope for sonic exploration.
The guitar comes with a hardshell case.
This is a great alternative to something like a 330 or a Casino, and will make for something unique in your collection, don’t miss out…
