Gurian / J-M, Mini-Jumbo Size, Mahogany - Spruce, Vintage Tone / 1977 / Guitar
Gurian J-M (1977) Mini-Jumbo Size, Mahogany - Spruce, Vintage tone, Case, VG
1977 Gurian J-M, Excellent playability and superb tone is the most striking aspect of this very rare 35 year old Gurian JM. Paul Simon owned and cherished one for many many years and I bet he still owns and plays it for the lovely and typical tone. Built in New Hampshire back in 1977, Gurian guitars are thought of as one of the most important forerunners of small production guitars like Collings, Santa Cruz, and many others who followed in his footsteps. This isn't a mint example. The guitar has been played a lot but is still structurally in good condition, with excellent playability and lots of saddle left to alter the action, frets show a bit of wear but have enough meat left for a few years of action. There are two cleated cracks in the top, and play-wear from 35 years of playing, but all in all it is a mighty fine Vintage guitar that reminds of an old Martin guitar. The tone would be best described as typical Gurian. Very powerful, strong mids, excellent Bass and trebles, and a beautiful matured vintage sound that reminds of a late 40's 50's Martin, tonally more a dreadnought feel than a OM Feel, and more a Martin tone than say a Gibson tone. And although the body width is closer to an OM than a Dreadnought it's still very powerful. It's also a bit deeper than a OM, creating more pressure. Serial #C3041 Makes this a 1977 guitar, The width of the neck is almost 41.6mm wich is to Gurian Standards wide as most measured around 39-40mm The Scale is 650mm, The Body size J should be best compared to a D size body, a bit deeper a tiny bit wider. This highly regarded Guitar is an excellent choice for the serious fingerstyle players, who seek a guitar that is not only suitable for standard fingerstyle work, the long scale make her suitable for alternate tunings, Good quality Case included.

The Fellowship Of Acoustics, Netherlands
ABOUT US
I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out.
