Excellent condition, 8,5/10, luxurious blonde archtop made in the Bjarton factory in Bjarnum, Skane during the time when Jimmy Daquisto flew over to Sweden to oversee the prototype run of Hagstrom Jimmy-guitars, this body was left in the factory until famed Swedish guitar maker Mats Silfverstam (Mabass Custom Guitars) in Karlskoga got a chance to buy some old parts and build guitars out of them, this one was finished back in 1995 and has a Hagstrom neck without logo, this guitar is unique in the way that it is a larger archtop model than any other Hagstrommodel ever produced with back and sides in incredible flamed maple, beautiful and tight grained spruce in the top. According to Mats there were 3 bodies of this type in the lot, probably prototypes that were rejected. He used the same type of laquer that Hagstrom did, acrylic, and mounted gold hardware including the best Gibson pickups he could find. In more recent years the previous owner let master luthier Tobias Lindberg (TLL Guitars) custom manufacture a new ebony taipiece and a full ebony bridge-foot for increased sustain, and he also has Magnus Ramel (MR Inlay) custom make a set of ebony humbucker rings and truss rod cover to really get that Benedetto-feeling going!
