ArchtopTraditional acoustic archtop built in the style of the New Yorker tradition of the ‘30s and ‘40s. These instruments quickly found their way into the hands of the rhythm guitarists of the big swing-orchestras of their era and were later also established as solo instruments. Its construction as a fully acoustic archtop guitar with hand-carved top and back results in a big sound with great cutting power. Back, sides and neck are crafted from flamed maple. You can choose between maple and metal as tailpiece material, between an ebony or celluloid pick guard and between a sunburst or natural finish. Also available with floating pickup. Through building their own guitars in the style of traditional American steel string guitars and through specializing in the restoration and repair of American pre-war instruments, they realized how similar these guitars were to the traditional German guitars in construction and materials.
Their new Tuebingen workshop opened in 1996. As aficionados of old American guitars, they have been creating many replicas of these wonderful instruments, authentic not only in their looks, but also in design and construction.
In addition to that, Blazer & Henkes are also specialists for the creation of modern guitar design, delicate pearl inlays as well as for restoration and repair work of vintage guitars.
