Ibanez / AW-25 / 1980 / Guitar

To those who know vintage Japanese guitars, and 12 strings in particular, you will know that they don’t really get any better than this model within this kind of price range.

There are a few reasons for this:

-  This has a solid top, which is very unusual for Japanese 12 stringers in this range, and this is one of the only mid range Japanese 12 strings made at the time that was solid construction

- Also made just after the prestigious Tama factory ceased production of its amazing guitars in late '79.

So this guitar was made in the same moulds, same craftsmen, same materials, so it is actually a lot higher spec than it should be for the price, basically a Tama guitar with an Ibanez logo!

Overall condition is very good to excellent for the year, not unmarked, yet far above average condition and lower asking price than any others currently online.

Photo’s show a fair representation of the condition, there are some reasonable weatherings yet no cracks or anything to put a player off

A good quality piezo UST pickup is fitted

As per the label 'crafted with select solid woods' at the time they actually told the truth!

Requires a light setup, there is plenty of adjustment room on the saddle to achieve any realistic setup by removing the material in the usual ways.

Case shows roadwear, so is condsidered ‘free’ and not part of the sale

This is a superb example in every way, the description given is 'excellent' condition in context of a 40+ year old.

If asked we will set the guitar to any preferences, otherwise very playable as she stands and the best are really no better

Over to you for the next 40+

Enjoy!
