Ibanez JEM 20th Anniversary Steve Vai! 80's colors Swirl and LNG LED lights! Flamed maple neck! This is one of my favourite JEMs because it is such a cool tribute to the first 1987 neon JEMS. The 3 early finishes Shocking Pink, Desert Neon Yellow and Lochness Green are swirled through the acrylic body which looks amazing and is hard to photograph, you have to see that 3D effect in person. It swirls through the body in multiple layers, i don't know how they did it, but it sure is a cool piece of artwork. As a finishing touch they also equipped the 20th JEM with 1980s colored plastic parts and NEON green LED lights to give it a shiny and bling bling Lochness Green color. Even the tuners are swirled. This one is even more unique because it has a flamed maple neck! Limited Edition of only 500 guitars ever made. The acrylic body is built by the company who built the see through walls of the biggest sea aquariums in the world, so no wories about cracks here ;-) The density of the acrylic TransJem body is greater than that of traditional wood guitars. To work best with this construction, DiMarzio designed the TransJem pickups to have greater transient response than standard humbuckers, and the neck and bridge pickups each have individual coils tuned to different frequencies. This combination produces a sound that is both powerful and open. The middle pickup design is based on the DiMarzio Virtual Vintage Heavy Blues 2. This design works well with the dense TransJem body, and balances very well in split mode with the neck and bridge pickups. All five TransJem switch positions are hum canceling. The guitar is in MINT condition and is a true collectors piece. Papers, tools and original 20th snakeskin case are included.
