"The 2671 is an Artist series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1975. It was made in Japan by FujiGen. It is associated with American country music artist Randy Scruggs. The 2671 features a carved ash single-cutaway body with German carve edges, abalone purfling and cream binding. Set-in maple neck with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with binding and mother of pearl vintage vine inlays which are continued on the large scroll headstock. Components include a pair of Super 70 humbucking pickups mounted in black pickup rings with individual volume and tone controls and a phase toggle for the neck pickup,. Tune-O-Matic style bridge and fancy stop tailpiece Speed knobs with pointers and Smooth Tuner machine heads. Components include a pair of Super 70 humbucking pickups mounted in black pickup rings with individual volume and tone controls and a phase toggle for the neck pickup, a Tune-O-Matic style bridge and fancy stop tailpiece, speed knobs with pointers and Smooth Tuner machine heads. Sometime around 1977 the Super 70 pickups were replaced with the new Super 80s. Super 70s had Alnico 8 magnets. Super 80s were ceramic magnets and wound hotter It's possible that at that time or perhaps at a later date the phase toggle was swapped out for a Tri-sound switch, but there is no documentation that verifies that conjecture. The 2671 was discontinued in 1978."
