Greetings,
Here is a very good example of Yairi’s flagship model, the YW-1000 in full trim…..
For those who do not know this model, it crystallises all the best features ‘borrowed’ from the higher end USA Martin dreadnought guitars upon which the design is based, along with some extra Japanese bling, plus Brazilian rosewood back and sides just to make it extra special.
Yairi was perhaps the most careful, highly acclaimed maker of the time, combining family guitar-making tradition, they also had the best tone woods stock which of course is one reason why their guitars are so good.
In our opinion this piece sounds a lot more interesting than 70’s Martins, better tone than most of the 70’s D-28’s we have owned and is more stable to transport and gig (due to the double plate construction of the sides and back)
Solid Ezo Spruce top
Ebony Fretboard and bridge
Jacaranda (Brazilian Rosewood) back and sides
She’s 46 years old and has a peaceful, mellow vibe and top mojo! Of course the guitar is so responsive that it will suit any style of play.
No apparent repairs
Overall condition very good
There are weatherings as expected and pictured - this is a players guitar.
Even so it is fair to say that by comparison this piece is still above average condition for nearly 50 years of play, just have a look at what else is around and perhaps you will agree that this should make the top three currently for sale online.
Action nice and low, circa 2.7mm and 2mm @ 12th fret
Original Yairi branded case and documents.
A fine players piece!
Enjoy!
