Kalamazoo / KG-14 "Robert Johnson" / 1939 / Sunburst / Guitar
For sale is this rare and historically significant Kalamazoo (Gibson) KG-14 from 1939 in good condition!
The guitar is very similar to a Gibson L-00 guitar (but sells for much less) and was built in the Gibson factory in Kalamazoo.
It's one of the guitars Robert Johnson, the famous delta blues guitarist, used to play and record with.
On a famous picture, he sits for a photo booth self-portrait with a cigarette dangling form his lip and a Kalamazoo KG-14 flat top guitar in his hands.
The FON number starts with an E and is located on the back of the headstock.
This might not be the cleanest - but for its age it's in good condition - KG-14 on the market but it's got mojo and sounds very good!
The guitar is light as a feather and responds to the slightest touch
Beautiful crack free top with an amazing sunburst finish.
Cracks on the back and sides have been treated (glued/cleated)
The neck is straight and has been reset. So the action is good. Saddle has room left for future adjustments. Has been refretted as well at some point in the past. 14 frets to the body. 5 dots markers on the fretboard. Black ebony nut. A single layer of binding inside the sound hole.
Original tuners and pickguard.
Newer rosewood bridge
Comes with it's (probably) original case
