The workhorse of the L'arrivee line-up
This particular version of the L-03 features mahogany sides and back. And that translates into a warm and sweet midrange bloom. It has excellent dynamics and crisp yet smooth attack of the Sitka spruce top. Because of the very comfortable body shape it is joy to play. Last but not least, it looks great. It has subtle elegant visual features like Canadian maple body binding and a herringbone inlaid rosette.

DESCRIPTION
Jean Larrivee began building guitars in 1968 as a one-man workshop in Toronto. Over the years his commitment to producing the finest instruments has remained constant. Whether flying to Europe to personally select the next shipment of rosewood, walking a log boom off the coast of British Columbia looking for the perfect spruce log, or applying his woodworking skills on the production floor, Jean Larrivee has always gone the extra mile to ensure his guitars are the very best. The entire Larrivee family, including Wendy, Matthew and John Jr. are heavily involved in a very “hands on” daily basis in the production of these high quality professional grade acoustic instruments.
Back in the early seventies a young Jean-Claude created the L body shape which has become a staple of the Larrivee guitar line. This body shape is similar to a classical body shape and features a Symmetrical Parabolic X-Bracing pattern. This helps to provide an exceptionally well balanced instrument with great sustain and dynamics. Over the last forty years this model has been embraced by professional and serious amateur musicians around the world as possibly the most versatile flattop steel string guitar design in our business.
This particular version of the L-03 features mahogany sides and back which translates into a warm and sweet midrange bloom to pair with the excellent dynamics and crisp yet smooth attack of the Sitka spruce top. Top it off with a very comfortable body shape and subtle elegant visual features like Canadian maple body binding and a herringbone inlaid rosette and you have a guitar that is much fun to play and look at as it is to listen to.
