Levin / Orchestra / 1955 / Vintage Burst / Guitar
Big sounding archtop from Sweden, works great for jazz and acoustic playing!
This guitar is a great acoustic instrument and one of my personal favourite Levin models. The body is 17" wide (Gibson super 400 is 18"), 3.25" thick and made with solid spruce top and solid walnut b&s. We had initially a theory that the guitar was a mix between a deluxe body and an orchestra neck but now we think it is all original in that respect. It is a mere 20 numbers away from the 1st known Cutaway Levin model 4 Orchestra who came out the market in 1955. It has had at least 2 different fretboars edge mounted pickups throughout the years, but there are no holes on the body from controls or jacks. All in all a nice players grade guitar that has been loved and used for more than six decades. We will of course include the 'original' chipboard case and with it some case candy, including a photo of the previous owner in action and a couple of his favourite tunes
It has been refretted by us to jumbo frets and has a small chip on the headstock veneer under the high E, probably from removal of the original tuner bushing.
