Louis Electric / KR12 / 2011 / Red / Amp For Sale

The long-awaited head and bottom version of the award winning KR12 combo is offered in standard black as well as custom colors.

A KT66 version is also available on a custom order basis.

The KR12 Bottom is a porthole, open-back 2 x 12” pine cabinet. Joints are dovetailed and made to the tightest tolerances available today.

The cabinet is loaded with Celestion G12H-30s and is covered in black tolex with salt and pepper grilles.

The KR12 Head and 2×12 Bottom represents more than just a separates version of the KR12 combo.

The head is identical to the combo’s amp, but the interaction of the amplifier with the cabinet creates a sound that is truly unique to itself — bigger, more detailed, more open.

You don’t have to be playing big halls to have the balls!

The idea for ToneDoctor was born in late 2008. As a practising musician for more than 10 years, part-time educator and full-time business consultant I was staggered by the lack of real choice there is in the UK for the folk among us that really care about our tone and understand what makes a good guitar, a great guitar (or amp for that matter).

Having spent some time in LA studying at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood I was amazed at how much talent there is in the U.S amongst the musical instrument building fraternity, the vast majority of whom never get heard of this side of pond.

I was privileged to meet amp builders and luthiers that have spent decades honing their craft, many of whom started out with the big companies and branched off, listening to their customers, working with artists, trying things every which way possible to discover the secrets that made the instruments from the 50’s & 60’s the sought after items they are today.

My experiences in the U.S caught my imagination and got me thinking, how many times have you walked into a music shop and never really felt comfortable, not really listened to, not convinced the person you were talking to knew the difference between quarter sawn from see-sawn or simply pressured into perceiving something must be good because it said so on the headstock?

There are a lot of myths surrounding Guitars and Guitar related products, quality seems to be a variable that can be plus or minus many percent and prices have been steadily on the up for a while now. Choosing the right instrument can be a minefield and you can run up expensive medical bills in finding a suitable treatment for GAS!

Here at ToneDoctor we pride ourselves on our knowledge, our passion and the belief that our partners are producing some of the best products on the planet today.

We are passionate about our Tone and feel that you should be too, we would never sell anything that we wouldn’t be 100% happy to gig week in week out or take to the studio to hang with the best of them.

If you see something you like or would like to discuss what the possibilities are for commissioning your own build, why not come and see us, we only see one patient at a time and you can be sure of our undivided attention. (There’s usually a stack of Greek meatballs on the go and a pot of fresh coffee on the go too!)

Thank you for reading, look forward to hearing from you.
