Lowden F Cutaway Richard Thompson, featuring stunningly grained AAAA Ziricote back and sides and perfectly grained AAAA Cedar on top. Ziricote is a scarce wood known for producing a powerful punch and clarity. The impressive looks are an extra you probably won't mind. The combination with the Cedar top makes it a very impressive guitar, producing a unique tone, not only majestic tone with a great bass response, but also warm, crisp and matured, as if it's already been played for a number of years. It's this aspect that makes it so satisfying to play, likely produced by the Cedar top combined with Lowdens famed Dolphin bracing and of course the unique Ziricote characteristics that combine so well to Cedar.
The Bracing Voicing is Hand carved,dolphin profile, the 5 piece neck is Mahogany, with Walnut and Rosewood slices. The Ebony Fingerboard is bound with ebony and matching Maple Purfling. The body is bound in Tasmanian blackwood and shows matching Sycamore-Rosewood-Mahogany Purfling. The soundhole shows a Colourful abalone inlay matched with Tasmanian Blackwood and Maple purfling. The tuning machines are Gold Gotoh 510 with genuine Ebony buttons. The headstock overlay, and headstock underlay are laminated with Rosewood, the Heelcap is matching Rosewood, The nut is 45.3mmm (1 25/32"), and the scale length is 650mm (25.5").
The "F" model is what you may call Lowden's Auditorium model with a bit deeper body compared to a OM, dreadnought width, but more tailored, and extremely suitable for Fingerstyle, with great balance but also very powerful and strong enough to handle strumming very well. The workmanship is superb and perfect to the last detail. The impressive woods and impressive craftsmanship produced music-machine with unheard tonal qualities of unmatched beauty. The guitar comes with Certificate of Authenticity/warranty card and Lowden Hiscox case.
