This is simply an amazing O-38c in mint condition. As if it's been in the case only for all these years. It features Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and a Cedar top, a 5 piece mahogany neck, Ebony Fingerboard, brazilian rosewood bridge, pear binding, Lowden style 38 leaf fingerboard inlays, wide abalone trim, matching brazilian rosewood headstock overlay, gold gotoh tuners. The amazing Wood-details, the Brazilian rosewood (fully legal and from natural fallen trees only) combined to the dark cedar top, and the skilled master-hands of George Lowden make for one of the finest playing guitars on this planet.
Other features include are a ebony heel-cap, with matching ebony tail wedge, the abalone soundhole inlay and abalone top-trim are matched with pear, maple and rosewood purfling, 45.5mmm (1 3/4") nut width, and 57mm (2 1/4") string spacing at the saddle, 650mm (25.5") scale length. The tone is big and warm, the dynamics are piano like detailed and precise, subtle and brilliant, balanced to perfection and all in all simply magical beyond words. The style 38 guitar is born in 1976 when George made one for a friend, and it set a standard for all others. Lowden are in the same leak with Guitar-makers like James Olson and for instant Kevin Ryan, but in a way his guitars outdo all competition since the tonal-experience is simply unique and cannot be compared.
