Custom options/Upgrades/Remarks: Madagascar Rosewood, Alpine spruce, Bevel armrest, Inlaypackage 2, GL Fingerstyle (45.3mm nut width & 60mm string spacing)
This amazing O-50c features very rare mastergrade (AAAAA) Madagascar Rosewood back and sides and mastergrade (AAAAA) Alpine spruce on top. Alpine has a refined tone that is unique and highly value by both fingerstyle players. The bevel armrest is very functional- read comfortable on a big Lowden. The 5 piece Mahogany neck is laminated with Rosewood. The Ebony Fingerboard is bound in ebony with matching Maple Purfling, the body is bound in rare flamed Tasmanian Blackwood, The Binding is matched with Maple-Rosewood-Mahogany purflings, the soundhole shows a Colorful abalone purfling and a centre made of Flamed Tasmansian blackwood. The tuning machines are Gold Gotoh 510 with genuine Ebony buttons. The Heelcap is matching with the back of the headstock and both in Ebony. The soundhole and Overlapping fingerboard are different from standard Lowdens in that the wood part of the rosette turns right into the binding of the soundhole.
Among the custom options is GL's Fingerstyle neck with a The nut-width of 45.3 mm (1 3/4") and the string spacing at the saddle is a generous 59.8mm (2 3/8") to accommodate easy fingerstyle. The tone is subtle and brilliant, with Piano like overwhelming warmth and dynamics, and truly magical actualy beyound words. A tone-experience only heard in very special guitars. The workmanship is superb, perfect to the last detail. Unmatched beauty combined with unheard tonal qualities is summing up the O-50c pretty well.
