Near mint to Mint condition, Lowden O-50c, virtually untouched, with big lush tone, featuring Flamed American (Honduras) Mahogany and perfectly grained Bearclaw Adirondack Spruce, "Church Pew" Mahogany neck, (5 piece Mahogany-rosewood) Flamed Maple bound body with Rosewood Maple and mahogany purflings, ebony bound fingerboard maple purfling, ebony headstock overlay and matching back of the head overlay, and matching heelcap in ebony, Gotoh 510 gold tuners with ebony knobs, the soundhole shows a Colourful abalone purfling and a center made of Flamed Koa. The soundhole and Overlapping fingerboard are different from standard Lowdens in the custom 50 series, in that the wood part of the rosette turns right into the binding of the soundhole. The nut is 45mmm (1 3/4"). This guitar has a 650mm (25.4") scale length. The tone is Huge, in every way you look at, it has a big voice, extremely vibrant and projective, with impressive dynamics that can make it subtle and brilliant at the same time. The impressive rounded bass response - defined and strong mids and almost celtic/classical clear trebles put this guitar in a category right next to makers like Olson and Ryan, maybe even above them depending on your taste. It is not only Incredibly powerful, but is also extremely controlled and piano-like, extremely suitable for any style from classic fingerstyle to Celtic folk Rhythm, DADGAD and other Drop tunings, and a guitar with unlimited headroom. A big lowden with woods like this produces tones that is almost to hard to describe, but all in all everybody will agree on the description 'sheer magic'.
