Lowden / Pierre Bensusan Near Mint / Guitar

2017 Lowden Pierre Bensusan with bevel, mint condition. The first guitar George made for Pierre was back in 1978 and that 'old lady' battered and bruised but much loved and played still sings beautifully today. Over the years since then Pierre and George have worked very closely together and Pierre has made many recordings with that first Lowden guitar. George also remembers adding a Cutaway and making the neck a bit wider to Pierre's first Lowden in 1999. Therefore, designing and building a new guitar for Pierre in 2009 was a project which George approached with special expectations and hope. His challenge was to design a new guitar with many of the attributes of the old one but with more comfort to allow Pierre to play and compose for many hours each day. Pierre asked George to include a sound-box "bevel". To make sure the new guitar had plenty of brilliance and warmth at the same time, George choose Madagscar rosewood and Adirondack spruce, also among my favourite tonewoods. Madagascar rosewood is the nearest wood in character and (tone)colour to good quality Brazilian rosewood - it has the same texture, density, hardness - and most of all -the same tap tone. Adirondack spruce was the wood used on the famous pre-war Martin (and Gibson) guitars, it is only available again since approx. 1995 because during WW2 all supply was used up for building boats and planes. The tonal clarity, warmth and rather 'three dimensional' powerful tonal quality is unique and it's no wonder Adirondack topped pre-war Martin guitars ar so sought after. Nowadays the same thing happens with Madagscar Rosewood, it's hard to come by and to make the PB work these days other woods are used for back and sides such as Mountain rosewood. A golden couple with Adirondack spruce - And i'm very pleased to present this wonderful guitar to you! This Lowden Pierre Bensusan is made in 2017 and in near mint condition. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
