Manuel Lopéz Bellido is considered one of the great guitar-makers of Spain. This master-made concert classical guitar is one of the finest we have currently in stock. It's made in 1975 and features all the finesses of a Top of line Concert instrument, including the Old Growth rosewood back and sides with beautiful spider webbing grain, a fine mastergrade German spruce top, ebony fingerboard, rosewood bridge, 52mm width at the nut, 660mm scale. The guitar is in wonderful condition, and has been re-varnished by our shop. A minor separation in the centre seam has been cleated back in place and is invisible after the re-varnish. Premium woods shaped into a premium instrument by one of the great makers of Spain results in a masterpiece. The spruce top has matured over the years and displays a wonderful sound, this wonderful instrument offers a bold Spanish sound with great projection and power. The openness, complexity of the tone, the perfect balance with evenly strong and wide dynamic range is that what a professional guitarist expects from a fine top level instrument. Its action and playability are second to none. A spruce topped guitar will grow Dynamics over the years, and like the famed Stradivari violins only sound better and better the older it gets. This most exquisite Spanish Guitar is a master-work of Lutherie and intriguing to the professional guitarist. Manuel Lopéz Bellido is Born in Granada in 1939, at age 16 he started apprenticing with Eduordo Ferrer as a guitar maker. In 1960, he opened his own workshop, which he initially shared with Antonio Marin Montero. He makes on average 20 to 25 instruments a year and among his clientele are Juan Carmona "El Habichuela," Tomatito, David Russell, Wulfin Lieske, Gerhard Graf-Martinez, Itaru Kobayashi, Victor J. Moreno, and Manolo Brenes. He is considered one of the great guitar makers of his time.
