Martin / 0-28 / 1926 / Guitar
Martin 0-28 (1926) Rosewood - Spruce, Case,
Martin 0-28 with 1931 features and 1926 serial number. A number of uncommon features for 1926 have led to the conclusion this guitar is restored or changed by Martin back in 1931. The bridge is an original Martin's 30s belly bridge (1926 wants a straight, pyramid bridge) and the presence of a 1930s pickguard (1926 has no pickguard). The guitar was taken to Willi Henkes who- after a in-hand - examination sentenced that the guitar was most likely retopped at the Martin factory in 1931 since the bridge shape and saddle location in particular are consistent with 1931 as well as the pickguard material, the top thickness and the original bridge plate are fully compliant to the early 1930s specs.
This guitar is made for steel strings and plays like a dream and sounds wonderful, it really reaches out to you. The guitar features all original finish, and the set up and playability are excellent, the top is crack-free except for a centre seam split repair, the sides are crack-free except for repaired endpin cracks, the nicely grained Brazilian rosewood back shows a 4 repaired cracks with a small touch-up into the cracks itself, 12 fret body, mahogany neck, 20 fret ebony fingerboard with square and diamond inlays, slotted headstock with Brazilian rosewood overlay, engraved machine heads with ivory buttons, also the heel-cap and endpin purfling are Ivory. Herringbone top purfling and style 28 soundhole rosette, belly bridge with bone saddle, original ivory nut and heel-cap, 47mm (1-7/8") width at the nut, 629mm (24 3/4") scale length. The Fellowship Of Acoustics, Netherlands
ABOUT US
I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
