Martin 000-18 1937 Authentic, pre-owned but near mint condition, impressive looks. This is Martin's ultimate Recreation of their prized 1937 pre-war 000-18. Made exactly like the pre-war guitar, with solid honduran Mahogany back and sides, solid Adirondack top, forward shifted X-brace, Scalloped according to 1937 style, hide glue construction throughout, T-Bar neck reinforcement, ebony fingerboard with small abalone position dots, ebony bridge with Long fossil ivory saddle, tortoise pickguard under the finish, to be absolutely clear about it: The neck is reinforced with the favored traditional non-adjustable T-bar, those looking for a Trussrod won't find it. A few adantages of the T-bar are the much longer lasting straightness of the neck and the impressive sustain, Really there is no need for a trussrod once you learned about these advantages. Other small details are the fossil ivory nut and saddle (either wallrus or Mammoth) 45mm (1 3/4") width at the nut, 645mm (25.4") scale length, 59mm (2 5/16") fingerspacing at the bridge, ebony bridge pins, 1930's style brown hardshell case This composition of small 1937 details add up to a most wonderful guitar and the impressive tone is a worthwhile investment, over time this vintage recreation will only impress more and more. Except for a few tiny string scratches to the headstock there is not a scratch or dent on this guitar and virtually NEW condition. No longer available from Martin and originally listed well over €8500 euro when new!
