Martin / 00028 / 1948 / Guitar For Sale

We have another one, a guitar that will delight both guitarist and listener with its incredibly beautiful sound! This Martin 00028 from 1948 has a sound that truly has it all; from clear and sparkling highs to a deep bass, and all the definition and focus in the notes in between. Every note played resounds with the musical adventures that this Martin has experienced in his 75 years of life, this guitar touches your soul! The first Martins in 28 style appeared in the 1870s, but it wasn't until 1934 that Martin introduced the 00028 in the form in which it is still known today. The guitar was equipped with a shorter scale length than its predecessor OM, but otherwise had many of the same specifications. The beautiful Brazilian rosewood back and sides are paired with a Sitka spruce top, while the V-shaped mahogany neck is accompanied by an ebony fingerboard. This Martin 00028 from 1948 is a guitar that has clearly had a turbulent life, because at first glance the playing traces and repairs to the top are immediately noticeable. In addition to the well-known pickguard crack, caused by the shrinking material of the pickguard, this Martin has a few repaired cracks on the top. In addition, the playing traces around the slightly enlarged pickguard reveal that this guitar has been very popular over the years! The guitar also has replaced tuning machines, and a neck reset and refret have been performed, in which the radius of the fretboard has also been adjusted. The guitar is simply a beautiful example of Martins that were built just after the Second World War; still with the same construction method, but with a more modest decoration such as the dot inlay on the fretboard instead of the Slotted Diamonds and a black and white purfling instead of herringbone. It is also a very rare model that will be the highlight of many a collection, because Martin only produced 144 00028's in 1948! Consignment. ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
