Martin / 0017 Mahogany / 1951 / Guitar

The Martin 0017 was introduced in 1930, and along with the slightly smaller 017 -which appeared on the market a year earlier- responded to the desire for steel-stringed guitars. Until then, the guitars were equipped with gut strings, but due to the ever-growing demand for larger and louder 14-fret guitars without slotted headstock, Martin decided to make the switch. With its compact appearance, smooth playability and beautifully clear sound, the Martin 0017 is a guitar that is ideally suited for fingerstyle, but also handles strumming without any problems. The guitar's all-mahogany construction makes the mids emphatic and lively, but the clear highs and subtle bass balance the sound beautifully. This Martin 0017 was built in 1951, and in its 73 years of existence has developed into a particularly characterful guitar with a beautiful appearance, both visually and tonally. The guitar plays very well because of a neck reset and refret, and, given the new bridge saddle that has more than enough height, is ready for play again. A few cracks have also been repaired on the top, one of which has a patch on the inside of the body. The guitar further shows beautiful subtle craquelé that reveals the respectable age of the instrument, but this Martin is nevertheless in very good condition. The guitar features the original glossy lacquer, tuning machines and pickguard, and is a wonderful example of the unparalleled charm that vintage guitars can express. The guitar comes with TFOA passport in a hardshell case. Played by Lars Hilbrink | Demo Gear: Ear Trumpet Labs Evelyn Stereo Microphone

ABOUT US

I have always been opposed to being trapped into a job eight hours a day to purchase the free time to do what I enjoy. That’s why i started the Fellowship of Acoustics. The fellowship of acoustics was founded by Rudi Bults, Guitarist and obsessed with tone and wood. The idea was offering real expertise when trading and selling the finest instruments in the world from our showroom in Bergentheim, Netherlands. Helping others find the right tools and enjoying an atmosphere that’s unhurried, honest and informative that’s my go. We are nothing like the "supermarket" style music stores, but specialize in string-things only. We are widely known for Flattop guitars but also sell electric, mandolins & banjo’s, amps, parts, and accessories. Our store has earned the reputation for being a great place to shop for the best products and service.
It is our hope that this new website - much more than a list of "gear" for sale - will serve as an example of our commitment to offering a more personal approach, a friendly atmosphere, and an ultimately more satisfying experience for our friends and customers.
If you have any questions just dial +31-523-232205 or e-mail info@thefellowshipofacoustics.com My name is Rudi Bults, and I’m always here to help out. Wherever possible, we would recommend that you visit our store and experience our instruments and service first hand. However, because of our high standards you can be confident of ordering online from us. We hope you enjoy your visit to our site, and welcome your feedback.
